~ WORKSHOP ANNOUNCED ~

I am happy to announce that I will be hosting my "Building Your Business 101" workshop again this year. This is a workshop designed for beginner photographers who are interested in learning the ins and outs of a photography business in a casual small classroom environment. The only requirements are an SLR camera and a good attitude ;)

To see all the fun we had last year check out this video :

I am only hosting 1 class this year and will only be accepting 20 students on a first come first serve basis. The class will be held on Sunday April 11th from 5:00-8:00pm and there is a $125 registration fee. For your registration packet contact me at KellyManno@yahoo.com

~ And Baby Makes 5 ~

One of the great things about being a photographer is having many talented friends in the field. My friend Clary is one of the best, so when it was time for Libby Lu's first professional photo shoot I knew she was the one to call. I think we flapped our jaws more than we actually shot but she still managed to get some amazing photos and capture the chaos of the Manno house perfectly.Luci is very, very girly. Her and I have a daily ritual, after she gets dressed for the day she heads into the bathroom for her lipstick. Then checks it in the mirror, and we are ready to start our day :)
One of my favorite sayings is "What the Crap?" And I think that sums up Libby Lu's thoughts in this photo as well :)

I'm laughing in this one because as we tried to capture a nice family photo...
Some bed jumping chaos was going on behind us...
Rocky is in love, just in LOVE with this baby! He's been a pretty big helper. It's truly amazing how siblings, no matter how young instantly bond to each other. This is one of my favorite from the session, I know I will cherish it forever. I love babies, I was the girl who always grew up playing "mommy" and wanted to have 10 kids. Having a third baby has been such a blessing and so much fun. My house feels so "full" with so many little ones running around with bed-head hair and footie pajamas. It's everything I dreamed my life would be.
I wish I had this relaxed confidence with all my babies, but you learn so much as you go you feel like a pro by your third one.

I will leave you with one of my favorite poems...

Before I was a Mom
I ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom,
I slept as late as I wanted
And never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was Mom
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words of lullabies.

Before I was a Mom
I had never been puked on
Pooped on
Spit on
Chewed on
Peed on
Or pinched by tiny fingers

Before I was a Mom
I had complete control of:
My thoughts
My body
And my mind.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child
So that doctors could do tests
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
When I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
Could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a Mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
Could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay
I had never known the warmth
The joy
The love
The heartache
The wonder
Or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom
