~ They say a photo is worth 1,000 words ~

They say a photo is worth a thousand words, but the words you have spoken about this photo have been worth a million.
I posted this photo on my Facebook page after my wedding late Saturday night.  When I awoke Sunday morning I thought my iphone had malfunctioned when it said I had received 74 e-mails in the 8 hours I slept.  But my eyes did not deceive me, they were all there...the facebook alerts, the emails... they were all about this photo.  I heard words like - "Speechless", "Breathtaking", and over and over I heard "Brought me to tears" - throughout the day as I ran into friends and family or talked to them on the phone they all wanted to talk about this photo.

I didn't do anything special to get this image, I was in 5 inches of sideways blowing snow holding an umbrella in one hand and randomly clicking with the other, I could barely see what the hell I was doing let alone have time to think about things like exposure, aperture and shutter speed.

Have you ever seen the end of a basketball game at the buzzer a play will throw a "Hail Mary" shot from half court on the off chance something magical will happen.  Yeah, this photo was my Hail Mary and something magical did happen.

I am very proud of this photo.  I love it, but I am overwhelmed at how many of you love it.

The fact that I have a job that allows me to freeze these beautiful moments in time, create this peice of art, in history, and move people down deep in their heart is awesome.  One day when I am long gone from this earth her great-grankids will say "Look how beautiful Grandma was on her wedding day".

I felt humbled and flattered to read all the comments and I want to say thank you, to all of you, who let me do this for a living.

Every single one of you who hire me as their photographer, tell a friend about me, read my blog or support my business in any way shape or form thank you.  Thank you with all that I have that my job is to see the best part of peoples lives and capture these beautiful memories to help them remember it.

I will be blogging this wedding in it's entirety next week, stay tuned.

~ The Photo Junkies ~

I had a lot of fun last week being interviewed by "The Photo Junkies" a funny and informative blog about all things photography.   If you would like to read the interview click HERE

They say a blog post is worthless without a photo, so here you go, Luci and her Daddy on their date to see Disney on Ice.   Disclaimer: she made him pose like that.

~ Baby Isabella is 6 months old ~

When I shot Shelley and Patricks wedding they didn't strike me as the type of couple to start cranking out babies right away.  They just came across as a couple who enjoyed their social life, their friends, loved to travel and enjoy the finer things in life.  I. was. totally. wrong.  Being parents of this beautiful little girl fits them like a glove.   They are fantastic parents and it looks good on them.

They are so proud of her, don't their faces just beam with joy.
Look at that little beauty...looking just like her mama ;)
Isabella....wave "Bye Bye" to the blog readers - Thanks!

~ Kyle and Amanda ~

My 2011 wedding season is officially off and running.
I was so happy to start things of with a Bride as easy going as Amanda.  Look at her awesome flowers - Red roses and black feathers?  Totally Rad, probably some of my favorite flowers ever.

This little flower girl, Savannah was adorable and camera-ready at all times.  I love this photo :)  I hope her mommy likes it as much as I do.

Amanda and Kyle were very courageous planning and outdoor wedding in Mid-March but Mother Nature rewarded them with windy, but totally do-able wedding day.

I have been shooting weddings for almost 7 years, how had I never seen the "Shoe Game" at a reception???  It was ALOT of fun to see how "In Sync" these 2 were.
I am not going to tell you how many of these cupcakes I ate.  It is a secret only shared between myself and my assistant Gail and she has been sworn to secrecy.
Amanda and her Dad brought the house down with their own version of "The Evolution of Dance" it was a big hit and a great way to get the party started.

Amanda and Kyle thank you for everything, you were such an awesome couple to work with.  Thank you to my assistant Gail for working and shooting her booty off, and thank you Mother Nature for not freezing us to death at an outdoor ceremony in March.  High 5's all around :)

~ Babies, Babies, everywhere ~

I had the opportunity to shoot not one but 2 maternity sessions last week, both of these beautiful mommies are expecting baby girls very soon :)

Little Andrew is going to be a great big brother.  I really think the stress of going from 1 to 2 kids really depends on your oldest child, I think this mama has it made because Andrew was a sweetheart the whole session.
Rachel and Tony are expecting a girl too!  Rachel is a labor and delivery nurse so technically she should be a pro at all this birthing stuff ;)  Only time will tell.  I loved her cute pink dress as soon as she showed up I said "You're going to match my website"

~ Becky and Jeff ~ (plus Gwen and Deisel)

Becky and Jeff are getting married!  I am very excited for their wedding, Becky is a part of a family I've grown to know over the past couple of years and she and Jeff are just adorable together.

They aren't getting married until Spring, but they are already quite the adorable family with Becky's daughter Gwen, and Jeff's "son" Deisel :)

When Becky said that Jeff was bringing his dog "Deisel" the name led me to believe it would be some big tough, rugged dog.  I was not expecting this little old dog in a formal collar and tie!  It made me giggle.
Little Gwen is a doll.  She is a girl after my own heart, so much like my Luci.  Now, I have always prided myself on being one of the BIGGEST No Doubt/Gwen Stefani fans ever.  Seriously.  Like,...I L.O.V.E  them with every fiber of my heart.   But Becky beats me in the fan department because Gwen is named after none other than great and fabulous Gwen Stefani.  I'm sort of jealous of her devotion.

And finally...I promised Becky I would dig out an old photo from my No Doubt "Groupie" days... so here ya go!  I'm the chick with pink hair who is NOT Gwen Stefani ;)
